Philadelphia Inquirer

Just before my senior year of college began, I was met with an incredible opportunity to write for one of the oldest newspapers in the country. I grew up reading the Inquirer, so when the paper’s Sports Managing Editor, Michael Huang, presented me with a position as a beat reporter for University of Pennsylvania Athletics, it was an easy yes! I immersed myself in Penn sports, writing stories about the Quakers from the stands at the historic Franklin Field and courtside at the Cathedral of Basketball itself, all the while learning from the talented and supportive staff at the Inquirer.

Here is a list of my main responsibilities as a reporter for the Inquirer:

  • Provide comprehensive coverage of University of Pennsylvania Athletics for the Inquirer’s print and online publications

  • Pitch and pursue stories about Penn sports and the surrounding community

  • Write game, feature, and instant-analysis stories about a multitude of sports
